TOLEDO, OH : Woman seriously injured after single vehicle crash on Western Ave on Friday, 5th January 2024

A Toledo woman is dead after a crash on Western Avenue near Champion Street Friday.

According to Toledo Police, Carole Loth, 86, died from her injuries. Police say she was driving west on Western near Champion around 9:00 a.m. on Jan. 5 when she lost control of the vehicle and hit a utility pole, causing it to roll over.

First responders extricated her from the vehicle and took her to an area hospital where she later died.

Police at the scene said Western Ave. would be shut down for several hours as crews worked to clear the area and put the utility pole back in place.
