Denver,CO : Four killed including at least two from Oklahoma in southeastern Colorado four-vehicle crash on September, Wednesday 6th 2017
Four people were killed — at least two of them from Oklahoma — early Wednesday in a fiery, four-vehicle crash on U.S. 287 in extreme southeast Colorado near the town of Springfield.
At least four others were also hurt, though their injuries were minor.
The wreck happened at about 5:30 a.m. in Baca County when a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck heading north on the highway crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a 2003 Kia. The pickup then also collided head-on with a 2015 Hyundai Elantra heading southbound before hitting a 2005 Ford Ranger — that was also southbound — head-on, as well.
“The Ford was pushed northbound, rotating counter-clockwise and came to rest in the southbound lane, facing northwest,” the Colorado State Patrol said in a crash bulletin. “The Chevrolet then became engulfed in flames.”
