Ottawa,KS : Man injured vehicle accident on August, Tuesday 22nd 2017

A man was taken to a hospital early Tuesday when the pickup truck he was driving struck a fire truck that was responding to an earlier rain-related accident on Interstate 35 near Ottawa in Franklin County, authorities said.

The incident occurred at 6:28 a.m. on northbound I-35, about a mile south of 15th and on the southeast edge of Ottawa.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2000 Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling north on I-35 when it went off the roadway for about 150 feet then came back onto the road, where it struck a fire truck that was assisting with a separate accident and traffic control.

The driver of the pickup truck, Max Obediah Combes, 21, of Waverly, was reported possibly injured and was transported to Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa. Combes, who was alone in the truck, was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.
