Clinton, LA : 61-year-old woman died after her motorcycle veered off the road in East Feliciana Parish on Sunday, February 8, 2015

A Slidell woman died as a result of a motorcycle crash in East Feliciana Parish, Sunday state police said.

According from Louisiana State Police Trooper Jared Sandifer, the crash occurred on Louisiana Highway 432 east of Louisiana Highway 67 in East Feliciana Parish and took the life of 61 year old Debra N. Justilian.

The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Justilian was riding a 2013 Can-Am motorcycle westbound on Louisiana Highway 432. As Justilian entered a left curve, her motorcycle ran off the roadway to the right, police said, then after leaving the road, the motorcycle went down an embankment."
Upon doing so Justilian was ejected from the motorcycle and struck a fence post," Sandifer said.

Although Justilian was wearing a safety helmet, She received fatal injuries as a result of the crash.

Impairment is not suspected, police said, however, a toxicology sample was taken from Justilian and submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.

Troopers are urging motorcyclists of all ages and experience levels to take extra precautions while riding and ensure that they are properly prepared and trained for a variety of riding conditions.
