Beaumont, TX : Man died in major accident on Highway 69 in Port Arthur Tuesday afternoon, September 27, 2016

A Port Arthur man was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident involving three other cars on U.S. Highway 69 Tuesday afternoon, according to the Port Arthur Police Department.

Officials said three vehicles were stopped at a red light southbound on U.S. Highway 69 when a fourth car rear ended the last vehicle and caused the crash.

The deceased victim's car caught fire during the accident, officials said. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Mark Derouen.

Officials said.Two other victims involved in the accident were taken to local hospitals with non life-threatening injuries.
