Lexington,AL : Sisters injured in accident on April, wednesday 26th 2017
Two Lexington students on their way to join teammates to go to a track meet were injured Friday morning in a one-car wreck.
Alexsandra (Alex) Grace Martin, 18, was taken by ambulance to Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence. Her sister, Presleigh, 13, was flown from the scene to Huntsville Hospital.
Officials at Huntsville Hospital said Presleigh Martin was in serious condition. ECM officials said Friday that Alex Martin was in the emergency room but was in good condition.
Senior Trooper Johnathan Appling, a public information officer with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, said the accident occurred at 5:40 a.m. on Alabama 101 near the Lauderdale 598 intersection.
Emergency officials at the scene said it appeared the sisters were traveling south on Alabama 101 when the car left the roadway, hit a culvert and flipped end-over-end.
The accident is under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Quad-Cities State Troopers Post.
