Grafton Township, IL : 93-year-old Grafton woman died in motor vehicle crash on Wednesday December 9 2015

A 93-year-old Grafton woman died of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident Wednesday.According to Sgt. Timmothy Hoffman of the Ohio Highway Patrol’s Elyria post, Laura B. Wright, 93, of state Route 303 in Grafton, died Wednesday evening at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
Wright was driving her 2013 Fiat eastbound on state Route 57, approaching state Route 83 at 1:14 p.m., when, according to witnesses, her vehicle was struck by a northbound 1999 Kenworth W9 tractor-trailer on state Route 83 driven by Raymond E. Belt, 40, of West Lafayette, troopers said.
Belt was heading north on state Route 83 and failed to yield, witnesses told troopers. Wright’s car was pushed off the east side of the road.
The tractor-trailer was fully loaded at the time of the crash. Wright did not have any passengers in the car.
Wright had to be freed from the vehicle and was transported to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center before being flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where she later died, according to a nursing supervisor.
Belt received possible injuries, but it was unknown if he was transported to a local hospital or treated at the scene.
Troopers said neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected factors and both drivers were wearing seat belts. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
