Newark, NJ : Newark man dies after crash in Heath on Monday October 26 2015
A Newark man died Monday evening after the car he was driving struck two utility poles and plowed through a fence in Heath.
The crash occurred around 5 p.m. Monday, according to a news release from the Heath Police Department. William Bolen, 58, was traveling south on Rt. 79 when his vehicle went left of center across the northbound lanes, then struck a utility pole. The vehicle continued off the road and through a fence, and then struck another utility pole in the parking lot of Meritor, Inc. before coming to a stop, police reported.
Bolen was transported by helicopter to Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center and was pronounced dead at 6:20 p.m. Monday, according to the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.
It’s unclear what caused Bolen’s vehicle to go left of center, and the accident remains under investigation, according to Heath police.
An autopsy is scheduled for today.
