Medics rushed five people — including a 7-month-old baby — to nearby hospitals early Monday after an ambulance crashed into a car on Route 22 in Salem Township, according to Forbes Road Volunteer Fire Department Chief Bob Rosatti.
The ambulance slammed into the side of the car at the intersection of Route 22 and East Pittsburgh Street at about 3:10 a.m., Rosatti said.
Four people were in the ambulance — two paramedics, a baby girl who was being transported as a patient and a family member of the child. One person was in the car and had to be cut out by first responders, Rosatti said.
The extent of their injuries is unknown.
