Carbondale, IL : Mulkeytown man killed in Perry County crash on Friday, March 17, 2017

A Mulkeytown man died in a single-vehicle crash at about 8:30 a.m. Friday on Illinois 154, west of Conant Road in Perry County, according to Perry County Sheriff's Office.

A 2002 6x4 truck driven by 60-year-old Billy Ray Zettler was westbound on Illinois 154, when his truck left the roadway on the north side of the rod and hit a utility pole. Zettler died after being taken to Pinckneyville Community Hospital.

The cause of the crash is unknown and is being investigated by the sheriff's office and the Perry County Coroner's Office.
