Robbins, IL : One person killed in a head-on crash at 136th Street and Pulaski Road on Friday afternoon, May 13, 2016

One woman was killed and another person seriously injured after a head-on collision in Robbins on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The crash happened around 3 p.m. near 136th Street and Pulaski Road and involved a black Dodge Avenger and a silver Chevrolet Camaro, police said.

Robbins deputy police chief Roy Wells Sr. said he is withholding comment pending the Cook County Sheriff's Police's reconstruction of the accident but confirmed that two adults and an infant were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identifed the woman killed in the crash as Janeka M. Hicks, 26, of the 13900 block of Central Park in Robbins.

One witness, who was attending a graduation party at a nearby home, said a passer-by pulled the baby from the back seat of the Dodge Avenger as it caught fire.
