Southbury, CT : 69-year-old driver died in dump truck crash on Main Street North on Friday, May 13, 2016

A 69-year-old driver died Friday after her car was hit by a dump truck on Main Street North, authorities said.

Ruth Grant, of Old Highway Road in Southbury, was driving west about 1 p.m. when the truck crashed into her Subaru Legacy, according to the police report.

She was taken to Waterbury Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police said the other driver was not injured. His truck is owned by a Watertown construction company.
The crash is under investigation.
