Bellevue, PA : Carol Lowery-Tait, 51, hit and killed by vehicle along Ohio River Boulevard on Sunday, February 14, 2016
Allegheny County police are investigating a deadly auto-pedestrian accident along Ohio River Boulevard. The accident happened just before 9 p.m. Sunday along the 4200 block of Ohio River Boulevard near Grant Avenue.
The medical examiner's office identified the victim as Carol Lowery-Tait, 51. An autopsy will be performed on Monday. Details surrounding the accident are unclear.
This is the second auto-pedestrian accident to happen in this area since late December. "People walking, crossing the street. This is no place to be," driver Edward Ross said.
Ross travels this route frequently and said it's too dangerous for pedestrians.
If you stand by some cars are not going 40 miles per hour," he said."They're going a little faster."
Harblinder Singh owns U.S. Gas, located about a block away from Sunday's deadly accident. He said in the past decade he's noticed more walkers in the area, and it's the pedestrians who need to exercise more caution.
"They're not paying enough attention when they're crossing the street and they get hit by a car," he said. "That's the biggest problem around here, and I highly assume that people drive fast but they're aren't many."
Police are still determining who is at fault in Sunday night's crash. No charges have been filed.
