A 2-year-old boy was killed Sunday in a one-vehicle crash in Meade County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the boy as Felipe James Tomas, of Friona, Texas. He was sitting in a car seat, but wasn’t buckled up, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 1 a.m. Sunday on Meade County Road V, about a mile west of 23 Highway. A 2001 Chevy Suburban was going around a curve, lost control, drove into a ditch and rolled.
KHP hasn’t identified the driver.
Two occupants of the Suburban were transported to Meade District Hospital with possible injuries. They were identified as 34-year-old Vicente Tomas-Tino and 23-year-old Isabel Solis-Gomez, also of Friona. They weren’t wearing seat belts.
