Pearl, MS : Claude Porter, 89, struck and killed by car after stopping to help crash victim on Interstate 20 in Pearl on Tuesday, October 21, 2014

An 89-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 20 in Rankin County while trying to help an accident victim. Authorities said Claude Porter, of Richland, pulled over on the right side of the interstate near Pearl High School around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning. He was struck on the interstate trying to attend to the first accident in the median. Pearl police say that the first victim was the driver of an SUV who lost control and crashed.
