Iredell, TX :Motorcyclist seriously injured in highway wreck on Thursday, July 2nd 2015
A motorcyclist was seriously injured on Wednesday evening in a crash on I-77, officials said.
First Sgt. Brian Owenby of the N.C. Highway Patrol said troopers are searching for the van that struck the motorcycle. The motorcycle was operated by Leo Wambold Jr., Owenby said, who was transported to Iredell Memorial Hospital.He said Wambold, riding a black Harley Davidson, was in the left lane, traveling south on I-77, just south of the I-40 interchange. A white panel van pulling a utility trailer was in the right lane beside the motorcycle. Owenby said the van tried to move into the left lane and struck the motorcycle.The motorcycle hit the median guardrail. The van continued south on I-77.
Owenby said troopers are looking for the van, which had the words Williams Ready Mix on the side and the first letter of the tag was an “A”.
