Blount County, AL : Hanceville woman, passenger killed in three-car accident on Friday, 21st February, 2020

A Hanceville woman was killed in a three-car accident Friday afternoon. Micki D. Murphree, 57, was one of two people killed in the accident at 2:44 p.m. in Blount County.

According to Alabama State Troopers, Murphree was killed when the 2010 Honda Pilot she was driving was struck by a 2015 Today Tocoma driven by Hunter Etheridge, 23, of Blountsville. Murphree’s vehicle then crossed the centerline and was struck by a 2003 Peterbilt tractor-trailer.

Murphree, and a passenger, Judy Lee Thrasher, 68, of Pinson were pronounced dead at the scene. Ethridge and the driver of the Peterbilt were not injured. The crash occurred on U.S. 278 five miles northwest of Blountsville. Nothing further is available as ALEA Troopers continue to investigate.
