A three-car crash brought the morning commute to a crawl on southbound Interstate 680 on Wednesday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
The California Highway Patrol issued a Sig Alert for severe traffic at 6:45 a.m. that lasted around 55 minutes. Details of the crash still were being gathered, but the CHP confirmed that at least three cars were involved, and the aftermath blocked the far left lanes between the Willow Pass Road and Monument Boulevard exits.
Ambulances were at the scene, but the CHP did not have any information immediately on how many people were injured or the severity of the injuries.
