Paducah, KY : Man seriously injured in motorcycle crash on April, Saturday 14th 2017
A Gilbertsville man was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, with serious injuries after his motorcycle collided with a fertilizer spreader Saturday in Graves County.
Josh Hudspeth, 32, was listed in critical condition Sunday, according to Sgt. David Warner of the Graves County Sheriff's Office. The medical center would not confirm Hudspeth's status, stating only that his condition was stable.
The collision occurred around 3:45 p.m., when Hudspeth was driving a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle westbound on Ky. 464 behind a fertilizer spreader that Kevin Jones, 46, of Mayfield was driving, Warner said.
Hudspeth began to pass the spreader as Jones made a left turn into a driveway. Hudspeth's motorcycle struck the front left tire of the spreader. Hudspeth, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered multiple injuries, including severe head and facial injuries from the impact, Warner reported.
A passenger on the motorcycle, Caitlin Hudspeth, 31, also of Gilbertsville, was treated at the scene for minor injuries. She was wearing a helmet. Jones, the driver of the spreader, was not injured, Warner said.
