Salisbury, NC : Teen girl charged after one killed, six injured in wreck on May 18th 2014

A teenage girl has been charged after one person was killed and six others were injured an a wreck in Salisbury on Sunday evening, troopers say.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol has identified the victim killed in a two vehicle crash on Sunday evening as 22-year-old Jatara Moore.
Salisbury Police say the crash happened around 9:40 p.m. near Highway 601 on Woodleaf Road.
NC Highway Patrol took over the investigation shortly after arriving on scene.
Troopers told WBTV the two cars were heading in opposite directions when one of the vehicles lost control and swerved off the road.
The driver of the vehicle overcorrected and skid across the road before crashing into the side of the oncoming car.
Moore, the passenger in the skidding vehicle, took the brunt of the collision. The oncoming car T-boned the vehicle skidding across the road, according to NC Highway Patrol.
Troopers say Moore was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of that vehicle, 19-year-old Amber Pruitt, is being charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle by NC Highway Patrol. She is still being treated at the hospital.
Six other people, four from the car that overcorrected and two from the oncoming car, were taken to the hospital.
One of those people taken to the hospital was Moore's 5-year-old son, according to Troopers.
Authorities say the conditions of the six people taken to Rowan Regional Hospital are not life threatening.
Troopers believe speed is the main factor contributing to the accident.
