A 73-year-old Kentwood man died Thursday after a crash in Gaines Township.

Deputies said the man was driving a Lincoln passenger vehicle eastbound on 60th Street when his car was struck by a Ford Escape southbound on Patterson Avenue SE about 11:30 a.m. April 17.

The man, who was not identified in a news release, was transported by Life EMS to Mercy Health Saint Mary's, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the Escape, a 22-year-old Caledonia woman, did not suffer life-threatening injuries, deputies said.

The crash is under investigation. Neither speed nor alcohol are believed to be factors.
