Rogersville, TN : A Hawkins County man was killed in a head-on collision on Old Rt. 70 near Bulls Gap on Saturday, April 16th, 2016
A Hawkins County man was killed Saturday morning in a head-on collision on Old Rt. 70 near Bulls Gap when his vehicle reportedly crossed the center line.
Around 6:30 a.m. Saturday Harold G. Henegar, 42, of Rogersville, was driving a 2005 Dodge four-dour sedan east on old Rt. 70 when he crossed the center line into the westbound lane.
According to a report filed by Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Anthony Bull, Henegar’s vehicle struck 2006 Dodge pickup head-on.
Henegar was killed in the crash.
“Both vehicles came to an uncontrolled rest near the point of impact,” Bull stated in his report.
The pickup, which was driven by Jonathan Boggs, 31, of Kingsport, was pulling a trailer.
Boggs and his passenger, Mark A. Marshall, 49, of Mount Carmel, were both wearing seatbelts and neither were injured.
Henegar wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, and Bull said it could have made a difference.
No drug or alcohol use is suspected by anyone involved, and no citations were issued.
