JACKSONVILLE, FL : 3 family members killed when truck going wrong way on side street T-bones car on Merrill Road on Thursday, 24th August 2023

The driver of a pick-up truck that plowed into a Honda Fit on Thursday night while going the wrong way at an Arlington intersection is facing DUI manslaughter charges in the deadly crash, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

Three family members in the Honda Fit were killed and a fourth was critically injured in the crash at the intersection of Merrill and Hartsfield Roads, police said.

Orlando Lopez Vazquez, 40, who police say was driving the F-250 that slammed into the Fit, was booked into the Duval County Jail just after 4 a.m. Friday. He is charged with three counts of DUI manslaughter, two counts of DUI with property damage and serious bodily injury and DUI.
