A portion of I-77 was closed in Charlotte Tuesday night after a crash involving a vehicle fire that sent three people to the hospital.
The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. on northbound I-77 near Arrowood Road, which is Exit 1 near the state line. Police said the closure of the northbound lanes was due to a "vehicle fire/accident," but did not give further details.
The interstate opened back up just after 10 p.m.
Medic said three people were taken to the hospital. All three are expected to be OK.
There is no word on what may have led to the crash or if any charges are being filed.
