A person was killed early Monday morning when their SUV overturned and caught fire north of Crystal River

The unidentified driver of the 1997 Toyota SUV was traveling south on North Citrus Avenue, south of West Far Hills Lane, around 3:40 a.m. according to Florida Highway Patrol. For unknown reasons, the vehicle traveled onto the east shoulder, overcorrected, went back across the road and overturned. The car caught fire and became fully engulfed. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are still attempting to identify the driver.
