A 52-year-old Middle Township man was killed in an early-morning one-vehicle accident on the southbound Garden State Parkway near Exit 4 A, the state police said.

Eric Scott, of the Swainton section of the township died shortly after his Toyota pickup truck ran off the road and struck a tree at 5:50 a.m.

The right lane of the parkway remains closed for an hour, police said.

No other injuries were reported. The accident remains under investigation.
