PARK CITY, UT : Driver killed when vehicle rams into tree catches fire off of Park City highway on Thursday, 18th July 2024
One person was killed when their vehicle became fully engulfed in flames after ramming into a tree off of a Park City highway.
Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden said a black 2019 Subaru WRX was traveling southbound on SR-224 around 2 a.m. on Thursday, July 18.
At milepost 6, Sgt. Roden said the Subaru veered right and left the southbound lane for an unknown reason, striking a tree. A witness said the driver, a 29-year-old man, was racing another car.
Officials are looking for the other vehicle involved.
The vehicle caught fire on impact and became engulfed. The driver and sole occupant of the Subaru reportedly died on the scene.
