About 9:40 p.m. Thursday, a man walking on Highway 341 just east of Clayfield Road was hit and killed by a car.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken identifies the man as Bill Monroe Altman, Jr., 43, of Johnsonville.
The fatal crash is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Florence County Coroner's Office.
