Rehoboth, MA : Mother, 12-year-old son injured after rollover crash in Rehoboth on Saturday afternoon, November 15, 2014
A mother and her son were rescued from their SUV after hitting a pole and rolling over in Rehoboth.
Police say the 47-year-old Rehoboth woman was driving her Jeep down Barney Ave. Saturday afternoon when she somehow veered off the roadway and hit a utility pole. Her 12-year-old son was in the passenger seat.
The pole shattered into three pieces on impact, and the Jeep rolled over and landed on its side.
Passers-by pulled the young boy from the vehicle, but the woman remained trapped until the Rehoboth Fire Department was able to extricate her.
Both were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
