Raleigh, NC : Cabbage clean-up halts traffic after tractor-trailer crash in Zebulon on Thursday, 29th March 2018
A tractor-trailer carrying produce crashed while attempting to avoid collision with another vehicle in Zebulon Thursday morning, spilling cabbage across the highway.
The crash occurred just before 9 a.m. on eastbound U.S. 64/264 in Zebulon at mile marker 435, under the Shepard School Road bridge near the split of the two highways.
The incident, which resulted in the truck spilling diesel fuel, impacted traffic for several hours.
"The goal is to clear the scene as quickly as possible with the realization that the highway will be subject to increased traffic due to the Easter holiday," Zebulon police Chief Tim Hayworth said as traffic backed up into the afternoon.
