Avon Lake, OH : Man face multiple charges after he fled police and crashed his vehicle on early Friday morning August 15th 2014

An Avon Lake man face multiple charges after he fled police and crashed his vehicle. Shane Wasara, 25, is charged with OVI, speed, reckless operation, reasonable control, stopping after accident and failure to comply, according to Avon Lake police. Police attempted to stop him for a traffic violation in his Ford F-150 pickup truck about 2:30 a.m. Friday near Lake Road. He fled at a high rate of speed, turning south onto Moorewood Avenue, according to police. He continued south through Redwood Boulevard, where he began to lose control of his vehicle, running off the right side of the road and striking a fire hydrant and three vehicles before coming to rest upside down near the front of a home. He then fled on foot from the scene, and officers were called to assist in the search from Sheffield Lake and Avon.
