Manchester, NH : One person died in a five-car crash on Interstate 93 Monday October 10 2016

One person died in a five-car crash on Interstate 93 Monday evening, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Police said they were notified around 6:30 p.m. that multiple vehicles wereinvolved in a crash and that a Nissan Rogue had rolled over into the median andthe operator was unconscious.

They said the crash happened on I-93 Southbound, just north of theInterstate 293 North split between exits 5 and 6.

When first responders arrived, they determined that the driver of the Rogue,Cynthia Perkins, 62, of Derry, was dead.

Initial investigation revealed Scott Roystan, 50, of Hudson, was driving aFord F350 southbound on I-93 when he came upon slow-moving traffic.

Roystan was unable to stop and collided with multiple other vehicles.

When he collided with Perkins’ car, the Rogue began rolling over beforeleaving the highway.

The other three cars involved in the crash were a Nissan Altima, driven bySusan Gleason, 67, of North Easton, Massachusetts, a Subaru Impreza, driven byJacob Evans, 25, of Somerville, Massachusetts, and a Tesla Model S, driven byPeter Cook, 48, of Kingston, Massachusetts.

Police said Kelly Maddock, 37, of Kingston, Massachusetts, was also apassenger in the Tesla.

Several ambulances were called to the scene, but it's not yet clear whetheranyone else was hurt in the crash.

Police said impairment does not seem to be a factor in the crash, but thecrash is still being investigated by New Hampshire State Police.
