OPP identify two Brampton men killed as truck plunges into river
Ontario Provincial Police have identified two men who died
Tuesday when a transport truck crashed through a guardrail on Highway 401 near Cambridge and plunged into a river. The 38-year-old driver, Anand Vora, and passenger Jasjit Sandhu, 37, both of Brampton, were killed in the crash near the Trussler Road overpass. The rig was carrying computers from Chicago to Mississauga.Police say it crashed through the highway guardrail and went down an embankment before ending up in the Nith River.The truck’s cab was submerged when police arrived on the scene and eastbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed for about 11 hours during the investigation.Police say single and at times double lane closures are expected for eastbound traffic on that section of highway (between Oxford Road 29 and the Trussler Road overpass) while the investigation continues Wednesday.
