TOLEDO, OH : 1 killed, 3 others hurt after police chase ends in crash in Toledo on Sunday, 19th November 2023

A police pursuit of a stolen car Sunday night ended in a crash that killed one person and sent three others to the hospital.

It happened 7:34 p.m. at the intersection of Douglas and Monroe. A police sergeant said two people were in the vehicle officers were chasing. It ran the red light at the intersection during the chase and hit a vehicle.

Another car was hit as the driver was putting air in their tires at a gas station, the sergeant said. Court records say a 50-year-old woman was getting back in her vehicle when she was hit. Police described her injuries as serious in court documents.

The stolen car also crashed into the Monroe Pharmacy sign where it came to a stop.

Police said 22-year-old Micah Hicks, of Detroit, died from her injuries. She was the passenger in the car they were chasing, police said. The driver of that car was 36-year-old Tyrone Hoy from Waukegan, Illinois, investigators said.
