HENDERSON COUNTY, NC : 1 dead, 1 airlifted after 2 motorcycles crash along I-26 in Henderson Co. on Thursday, 13th April 2023

North Carolina Highway Patrol said troopers are investigating following a crash involving two motorcycles and a tractor-trailer that closed parts of I-26 West on Thursday.
Troopers said the crash happened around 3:00 p.m. about one mile away from Airport Road in Henderson County.
According to troopers, traffic was coming to a slow stop when two motorcyclists came from behind and hit the back of a tractor-trailer. One motorcyclist crashed into the back of the tractor-trailer and sadly passed away shortly after the collision.
The other motorcyclist tried to go around the truck, but unfortunately hit part of it and crashed. Crews airlifted this person to Mission Hospital for treatment. However, their current condition is unknown.
