A man escaped serious injury after becoming entrapped in his vehicle after it ran off the road and overturned Wednesday night.
The single-vehicle wreck occurred on West Main Street in Glen Alpine at the intersection with Cutherberson Street around 8:30 p.m.
Capt. Matt Price of the Burke County Rescue Squad said the man was removed from the vehicle, which landed on the driver's side, less than 10 minutes after responders arrived on scene.
"He was extricated from the passenger side," Price said. "He was able to climb out using our ladder."
The man, who had yet to be interviewed by Glen Alpine police, was transported to Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge - Morganton campus for treatment.
Officer Henry with the Glen Alpine Police Department said the driver was shaken up but "not complaining of injuries."
The investigation into the cause of the wreck is ongoing.
Other agencies responding included the Glen Alpine Fire Department and Burke County REACT.
