Providence, R.I : Five people injured a car hit a garbage truck in Cranston on Monday afternoon, November 24, 2014

Five people were taken to hospital with minor injuries after a car hit a garbage truck in Cranston Monday afternoon, according to the Cranston Fire Department. The accident occurred at about 3:20 p.m. on Pontiac Avenue near the intersection with East Street. It appears that the car rear-ended the garbage truck before veering off the road, said Deputy Chief Paul Casey who is also the fire department’s EMS director.
