BALDWIN COUNTY, AL : 1 killed in single-vehicle I-10 crash between Malbis and Loxley on Friday, 18th January 2019

Alabama State Troopers responded to a single- vehicle crash near the 41-mile marker of I-10 shortly before 6 a.m. Friday.

Robert G. Harper Jr., 30, of Mobile, was traveling east in a 2008 Toyota Avalon when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway, overturned and struck a tree, said ALEA Lt. Byron "Joe" Piggott.

Harper, who was using a seat belt at the time, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, Piggott said.

Troopers are continuing to investigate the crash.
