Anniston, AL : One person injured in a Two-vehicle wreck in Oxford Monday evening, January 9, 2017

Oxford firefighters and police responded to a two-vehicle wreck Monday evening that sent one woman to a hospital, officials said.

“We extricated one female from a silver Jeep and Oxford EMS took her to Anniston RMC,” Oxford fire Chief Gary Sparks said after the wreck.

Firefighters and Oxford police responded to the wreck around 4:17 p.m., Sparks said.

The Jeep stopped facing west on the south side of U.S. 78 while a white vehicle was stopped on Bama Drive, less than a half mile from the Police Department, Sparks said.

“I didn’t get a good look at the other vehicle,” Sparks said. “We were pointed towards the Jeep to get the girl out.”

Sparks said he was unsure of the woman’s condition.

The Jeep, the chief said, had damage to the driver’s side. No one else was in the Jeep and no one was taken to a hospital from the other vehicle, Sparks said.
