Moss Hill, TX: 32-year-old Porter woman killed in crash on Sunday, August 2nd 2015
A 32-year-old Porter woman, Candice Wise, was killed around 11 p.m. Sunday night, Aug. 2, when the vehicle in which she was a passenger was struck by a truck.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Christopher Cash, Wise and William Kelley, 39, of Rye, were traveling southbound on SH 146 in a Ford Transport van with the business name of “Oracle” on its side. As they made their way through the SH 105 intersection in Moss Hill, they reportedly were struck in the passenger side of the vehicle by a eastbound red Toyota Tundra driven by James Barry Jones, 47, of Vidor.The impact pushed the vehicle 300 feet from the intersection, flipping it a number of times before it came to rest on the south side of SH 105, directly across from Fitzpak convenience store.“The Tundra never stopped,” said Cash.Wise was killed upon impact. Kelley was taken by air ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. Jones refused medical treatment, according to Cash.Jones was taken from the scene to be tested for drugs or alcohol.“This is a continuing investigation. We believe alcohol to be a factor,” Cash said.Hardin VFD, Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and Liberty County EMS assisted with the accident scene.
