New Castle, DE : Pedestrian struck and killed crossing road, just south of Amstel Drive on Tuesday, Sep 1, 2015
Delaware State Police say a pedestrian was killed when he was hit by a car while trying to cross a road in New Castle.
It happened about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday on Basin Road, just south of Amstel Drive. Troopers say 50-year-old David Brixen of New Castle, who was not in a marked crosswalk, was trying to cross the southbound lanes.
Police say Brixen was hit by a car driven by 21-year-old Ronald Landry of Dover. Brixen was taken to a trauma center, were he died.
The crash is under investigation, but troopers say no charges are expected.
