Westampton, NJ : Driver dies after car veers off New Jersey Turnpike early Wednesday, December 30, 2015

State troopers say an early morning single-car crash on the New Jersey Turnpike has left one person dead.

The Burlington County Times reports the driver of an Audi R8 lost control around 4 a.m. Wednesday on a stretch of the highway in Burlington County and went off the road before crashing into a group of trees.

Police say the driver was ejected and later died.

Authorities didn't immediately identify the victim.

The crash is under investigation.
