Des Moines ,IA : 32 People injured after semi crashed into cars on Friday ,May 8th 2015
The Iowa State Patrol says charges are pending in a chain reaction crash on I-80 in Iowa County Friday afternoon, injuring more than 30 people.
According to police, 59-year-old Fedir K. Maftei of Portland, Oregon rear ended an SUV by 29-year-old Andrea Lee Haglund of Muscatine, which had slowed for an earlier crash.
This caused a chain reaction crash with three other vehicles, including a tour bus.
The tour bus was carrying 27 people on board--including the driver--who were all sent to the hospital.
The drivers involved, 50-year-old Keith E. Dickens, 27-year-old Kirby A. Weber and 30-year-old Leroy Steven Lowary, have all been sent to the hospital for their injuries.
A total of 32 patients have been sent to the hospital for their injuries.
