Decatur,IL : Two from Weldon hurt in I-72 crash in Macon County on October, Wednesday 4th 2017

Two people from Weldon were injured Wednesday night when their SUV went off Interstate 72 near the Oreana exit, the Illinois State Police said.

The female driver, age 25, and male passenger, 22, were both taken to a local hospital, said police, who did not describe the seriousness of their injuries.

Police said the SUV was heading west on I-72 at 10:28 p.m. when it left the roadway to the right and overturned at milepost 147.5.

The driver was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, no insurance and failure to wear a seat belt. The passenger was cited for failure to wear a seat belt.
