HANNIBAL, MO : Passenger injured in Hannibal accident on Thursday, December 1st, 2016

A Hannibal, Mo., woman was injured when the car she was riding in Thursday night struck a tree.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that Damien Gray, 26, of Hannibal, failed to negotiate a curve on Westover Road just west of Highway 61 in Hannibal, ran off the road and then struck a tree.

A passenger, Caitlynn Brown, 22, of Hannibal, suffered minor injuries and was taken by Marion County Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital. Neither she nor Gray were wearing seat belts. Gray's 2005 Ford Taurus was totaled and towed from the scene.

The Ralls County Sheriff's Department, Hannibal Police Department and Hannibal Fire Department also assisted.
