Hobart, IN : Driver avoids serious injuries after semi tire crashes into car early Friday morning, March 18, 2016

A driver traveling on I-80/94 in northwest Indiana escaped serious injuries after a semi tire crashed into his car early Friday morning.

According to Indiana State Police, the driver was westbound when he saw the tire bouncing along in the same direction ahead of him. The tire struck the passenger side of his Subaru, hitting the windshield, hood and roof causing major damage.

The driver refused medical treatment at the scene, but told police me might have his eyes checked for glass shards as a result of the windshield being shattered.

The semi that lost the tire did not stop and police have not been able to locate it.
