Two people were injured in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 380 in Evansdale on Tuesday morning.

Authorities said the driver, 25-year-old Aja Bennett of Waterloo, was able to exit the wrecked vehicle on her own, and crews with Waterloo Fire Rescue had to cut off the vehicle’s roof to remove the passenger, Antonio Harris, 27, also of Waterloo, according to the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office.

Harris and Bennett were taken to Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, and their conditions weren’t available.

The crash happened shortly before 6:30 a.m. Tuesday near mile marker 68 when the southbound passenger car left the roadway, rolled and traveled down a hill before crashing into a chain link fence and coming to a rest on the bike path near River Road.
