A bicycle rider has died in a hit-and-run wreck on a bridge near Charleston — the second such incident in the area in two days.
Authorities tell local media outlets that the bicyclist was struck and killed late Thursday night on a bridge crossing the Stono River to Johns Island southwest of Charleston.
The name of the victim has not been released. Authorities have found the driver and made an arrest, but they have not yet released further details.
On Wednesday night, another bicycle rider was the victim of a hit-and-run. Authorities say 46-year-old Jathon Bellamy III of Goose Creek was struck and killed in North Charleston.
Police are still looking for the driver in that incident.
