Fort Wayne, IN : 57-year-old dies in ATV crash in Wabash County on Saturday, October 29, 2016

A 57-year-old man is dead after an ATV crash in Wabash County.

About 6 p.m. Saturday, Indiana Conservation Officers were called to the 14000 block of North 300 West in Wabash County.

Timothy Bradford, of Silver Lake, was operating an ATV on private property when he hit a tree. The ATV sustained major damage, and Bradford was thrown from the vehicle without a helmet, suffering fatal injuries.

A preliminary test showed that Bradford’s blood-alcohol content was 0.28 percent, more than three times the legal limit.

Alcohol, speed and a lack of safety equipment are believed to have contributed to the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Indiana Conservation Officers remind the public to never use alcohol while operating off-road vehicles and to always wear a helmet.
