Tacoma, WA : 1 seriously injured in Minneapolis crash involving Metro Transit bus near Portland Avenue and 15th Street on Tuesday, 28th May 2019

One person was seriously injured in a crash in Minneapolis that involved a Metro Transit bus Tuesday evening, according to Minneapolis police.

Police said officers received a report of a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed near Portland Avenue and 15th Street.

When officers responded, they came upon a crash at Portland and Franklin Avenues.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicates the suspect vehicle blew a red light, struck a sprinter van, which rolled over and hit a Metro Transit bus.

One person in the sprinter van was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with a skull injury. Police said the person is in serious condition.

Police said three to four other people suffered minor injuries.
